It was Lomonosov, who introduced into Russian language the theory of "three styles".
With high ode once he sang the praises of Russian army's victories. And, of course, of
Russian empress Elisabeth, the daughter of Peter the Great.
But Lomonosov also created Barkov, Ivan, Semen's son. He arrived directly from the seminary
to Lomonosov who was selecting talented students to the Academy.
Barkov was accepted. Due to the brilliant knowledge of Latin. Due to the translations of Sallustia.
But in addition to Latin he knew very well Russian. And not only literary language but also other
languages of literature: peasant's, merchant's, town's, bazaar's, prison's. And also church Slavonic
language which he knew by heart. Once well drunk he approached the rector of the Academy Krasheninnikov -
his offender who quite often fined Barkov for carouses and roughness - to explain himself in the very
common people's language. The result of the explanations was whipping. And the threat to be sent to the navy.
But nobody could stop Barkov. He was dying to the stars. To the highest knowledge of languages.
Native and foreign. Ancient and modern. Live and dead. Poetry and vague.
Finally he was sacked from the Academy. Rough and forever. And a miracle happened.
In very common Russian where key word was "motherf..." Barkov started writing
poems. The unprecedented freedom of poems made him famous. Even glorious.
Victoria Barkova united in her poems Barkov and capitain Lebyadkin, Elysium's
poems and people's chastooshka, pseudoscientific style and street's abuses, made one
more step back:
"Forward to Barkov!"
In a unanimous integrity with brave
illustrations of the Academician of painting
Drobitskiy the book of poems in abnormal vocabulary of Victoria Barkova creates
those unity which ancient Greeks gave a proud name syncret.
